Check out our recipe below, and prepare yourself, it’s time to make some Homemade Sunflower Seed Butter!
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups Honeyville Sunflower Seeds
6-7 Tbsp Coconut Oil
1 tsp Agave Nectar
1/2 tsp Salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Spread Sunflower seeds across a cookie sheet. Place in oven and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until seeds are golden brown. You definitely want our Sunflower Seeds for this butter, as there is no added salt or preservatives. Plus, the shells have already been removed for your convenience.
Remove and allow to cool. You want your seeds roasted in order to blend them well.
Once seeds have cooled, place in your BOSCH Food Processor Attachment.
Blend on the #2 setting until seeds turn to a clumpy, flour texture. This means the natural oil is beginning to separate from the seeds.
Add coconut oil 1 Tbsp at a time and blend until a creamy texture begins to form. This may take a few minutes, but continue blending until the texture is to your desire.
Add agave and salt and blend until fully combined. You’re sunflower seed butter will begin to have the same look and texture as peanut butter.
Place in a resealable jar, refrigerate, or serve immediately.
The first thing you’ll notice with this butter is the taste. That rich, sunflower seed taste comes through the whole butter. The spread hits you with a sweet flavoring, followed quickly by a rich, delicious nut taste and aroma. You’ll swear you’re at the baseball diamond munching on roasted sunflower seeds. Serve this spread with any meal that you typically use peanut butter with. This butter is gluten-free, paleo friendly, and the perfect side for any treat.
