Who loves breakfast? I know, I know, with the hectic, run-around lives we live, the more pertinent question we should ask is “Who has time for breakfast?” Why has it come to this? Why have we let the routines and stresses of daily life take away a meal time we all loved and cherished growing up? Isn’t it time to take it back? Isn’t it time to enjoy this early morning tradition? Isn’t it time for breakfast?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I’m here to tell you that breakfast is back! Using our delicious Freeze Dried Sausage and amazing Freeze Dried Mozzarella Cheese, I’ve created the most delicious, most mouth watering breakfast roll you’ve ever seen! Light, fluffy, and just the right size to fill your stomach and start your day of right, it’s time to bake up some Stuffed Sausage Rolls!

3 cups Warm Water
1/4 cup Butter, melted
1 Egg
1/3 cup Sugar
1 Tbsp Salt
1 Tbsp Chef Tess Romantic Italian Seasoning
8-10 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Flour
3 Tbsp SAF Yeast
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Sausage
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Mozzarella Cheese

Yields: 12 rolls

In your BOSCH Universal Mixer, using your BOSCH Dough Hook Extender, add the following ingredients in this order: water, butter, egg, sugar, salt, chef tess seasoning, 4 cups flour, and yeast. turn mixer to #2 setting and, while ingredients are mixing, slowly add remaining flour until dough pulls away from the sides. Knead in machine for 4 minutes, then remove, place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 45 minutes.


While dough is rising, re-hydrate your cheese by soaking in water until soft, then draining any excess liquid.


Repeat this process to re-hydrate your sausage as well.


Once dough is risen, punch down, remove from bowl, and divide into 12 pieces of dough.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.


Take a piece of dough, flatten it out, then place a spoonful of cheese and a spoonful of sausage on top.


Shape into a roll and place on your USA Pan Cookie Sheet, lined with parchment paper. Repeat this process for each roll, then brush the tops with melted butter.


Place rolls in oven, knock down temperature to 350 degrees, and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove and, while still hot, brush the tops with melted butter. Let cool for 2 minutes before serving.

The cheese and sausage combination give each roll the perfect amount of creaminess and spicy flavor, with all the hints of an old fashion breakfast dish you’ve been missing.
