I love jam, how about you? It seems like most of my memories of summertime as a child involved harvesting fresh berries and watching my mom make and bottle freezer jam. Oh the joy as I’d see our old basement freezer filled to the brim with those delicious jelly jars. What a beautiful site!

While I don’t get the opportunity to keep that same tradition alive with my own family, I do get, on a rare occasion, the chance to whip up a batch of delicious jam and jelly using our Honeyville Freeze Dried Fruit. Today’s recipe is know exception.

With summer officially here, we thought it only right to create a delicious, spreadable recipe using the kings of summertime fruit, our sweet Freeze Dried Strawberries and our delectable Freeze Dried Peaches! Best of all, this recipe takes less than an hour to make! Grab your favorite jelly jars, it’s time to make some Strawberry Peach Jam!

1 1/4 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Strawberries
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Peaches
1 cup Water
2 cups Sugar
1/4 cup Lemon Juice
1/2 cup Ultra Gel

Yields: 2 Jelly Jars

First, re-hydrate your fruit.


Add strawberries and peaches to a large bowl, then pour your cup of water over the top and stir until fruit is super soft. If you want your jam a bit smoother, you can also mash the re-hydrated fruit at this stage in the recipe.


Next, add your fruit to a large pot, along with sugar and lemon juice and, while stirring together, bring to medium heat on stove top. You can warm your mixture for however long you choose, just keep in mind that the longer it sits on the stove, the more the fruit breaks down and the jam becomes smoother.


Next, add ultra gel and stir until completely dissolved and jam is thick.


Using a funnel, pour jam into prepared jars, screw lids on top, then place in freezer. Just like that, you have the perfect summertime jam!


This recipe is the perfect combination of summertime fruit flavors. The freeze dried fruits give the perfect amount of flavor and texture, while the ultra gel adds the right consistency to make this jam out of this world. Spread it over some fresh baked bread and you’ll find yourself is pure heaven!
