Don’t you just love jelly? Whether it’s smothered on top of your favorite piece of toast or baked inside a delicious dessert, nothing seems to top better than this sweet concoction. But what could make jelly even better? How about making it with one of your favorite soft drinks? Think about the possibilities!

Today, we’ve done just that. Using a tried-and-true family favorite soda, Root Beer, we’ve come up with a flavorful, spreadable jelly that you’ll not only enjoy on your favorite breads and desserts, but may even test out as a rub on your grandpa’s barbecue ribs recipe. Best of all, it’s all possible thanks to our amazing, easy-to-use Ultra Gel! Okay, we’ve talked enough, now it’s time to create whip up some Root Beer Jelly!

20 oz Root Beer
4 cups Sugar
1/3 cup Ultra Gel

Yields: 4 Jelly Jars (8 oz)

First, mix and heat your ingredients.


In a large pot, add root beer and sugar, and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil.


Let boil for 1 minute, then reduce heat to a simmer and add ultra gel, constantly stirring until ingredients are fully combined. Use a whisk to break up any clumps you may see.


Fill your jars evenly with jelly, then allow to cool for 12-24 hours before serving.
