The Holiday’s are officially upon us! Time to light up the ovens, pull out the blenders, and get to mixing and making our favorite Holiday treats! One of those treats that I remember most from my childhood is popcorn balls. I can still remember how exciting it was to gather around the kitchen counter with mom and pack, push, and form these delicious treats into all different shapes and sizes.
Now that I’ve grown older, I love sharing those same memories and recipes with my own family, and Holiday popcorn balls are no exception. But as many of you probably know, microwave popcorn just won’t do for treats like these. That’s where Honeyville Yellow Popcorn comes in.
This delicious popcorn pops up super light and fluffy, with large kernels perfect for Holiday treats! And just in time for Halloween, here’s a delicious popcorn ball recipe that is perfect for any frightful party you’ll be having. And the taste? Ghoulishly good!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Honeyville Yellow Popcorn
1/4 cup Butter
1 1/2 tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 bag Marshmallows
White Chocolate Topping:
1 cup White Chocolate Chips
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
Sprinkles (if desired)
Chocolate Topping:
1 cup Chocolate Chips
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil
Sprinkles (if desired)
Yields 12-13 Popcorn Balls
Directions:
In an air popper, pop 1/2 cup yellow popcorn. This should give you around 14 cups popped popcorn.
Place popcorn in a large bowl.
In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Pour marshmallows in and stir until completely melted.
Add pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon and stir until completely combined.
Take off heat and pour over popcorn. With a large spoon, stir popcorn until sauce is completely mixed in with popcorn. The popcorn will start to make one large ball.
Lightly spray your hands with cooking spray and begin to form your popcorn balls. Place each ball on wax paper to cool.
Once balls are made, begin to make your toppings. In separate bowls, add white chocolate topping ingredients and regular chocolate topping ingredients, and melt in the microwave.
Dip each popcorn ball in the desired topping.
Place back on the wax paper and add sprinkles.
Let balls sit for an additional 10 minutes for toppings to dry, then serve.
These popcorn balls are packed with flavor! The delicious taste of spice and cinnamon, combined with the chocolate topping gives your taste buds a flavor explosion perfect for this time of year! Make these balls up for your next Halloween party, your neighborhood trick-or-treaters, or just a delicious fall snack.
The Holidays are all about making memories, and these popcorn balls will be a recipe you’ll never want to forget!
