1 1/2 cups Warm Water
2 cups Water
5 Hot Dogs
2-3 Tbsp Melted Butter
Coarse Salt (Optional)

Yields: 32 pretzel dogs

In a large bowl, activate yeast by combining yeast, brown sugar, and 1 1/2 cups warm water. Let yeast sit for 5-8 minutes.
Add flour and mix until dough ball begins to form.

Place dough on floured surface and knead until dough is smooth.
Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.

While dough is rising, slice up hot dogs. Each dog should be sliced into five pieces.
In a sauce pan, combine 2 cups of water and 2 Tbsp baking soda and bring to a simmer.

Remove dough from bowl and with a dough scraper, cut dough into 4-5 sections.

Cut each section into 6 or so pieces.

Take each piece of dough and roll out with a rolling pin.

Place hot dog piece on edge of dough piece and roll the dog into the dough.

Be sure to tuck the sides of the dough in on each side.

Pinch the top when finished, then place rolled pretzel dog in your simmering water/baking soda mixture and let simmer for 20 seconds.

Remove and place on a greased or parchment paper-lined cookie sheet.

Melt butter and brush on to each pretzel dog.

Bake in a 450 degree oven for 8-10 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.
