To gluten or not to gluten? Many ask this question everyday when it comes to their diet. There are many reasons why one would choose gluten free products, ranging from wheat allergens, sensitivity to gluten, celiac disease, diabetes, or even just health and diet preferences. But for many, the question isn’t why to go gluten free. Rather, it is what options are out there that meet a gluten free lifestyle. Here at Honeyville, the gluten free possibilities are endless!
Today we’re going to take a closer look at three of our most popular gluten free products and some of the best ways to use them in your daily cooking. We’ve also got a fantastic recipe from Chef Tess that we’ve included at the bottom.
Honeyville Almond Flour
This is by far our most popular and perhaps most versatile gluten-free product. This high protein flour is full of dietary fiber and can be used in nearly any cooking recipe that calls for regular flour. Whether it is cookies, cakes, breads, muffins, pancakes, puddings, our even soup, you’ll never run out of new ways to use it! With two options to choose from, you can pick between blanched (no almond skins) or natural (almond skins included) versions. The shelf life for Honeyville AlmondFlour is only 3 to 6 months, but it can be easily frozen or refrigerated for storage purposes. This, by far, should be a staple in every gluten free kitchen and household.
Honeyville Organic Coconut Flour
Not to be outdone by its gluten free cousin Almond Flour, HoneyvilleOrganic Coconut Flour packs in plenty of health and cooking benefits in one gluten free product. Coconut flour is a low-carb, high protein flour full of dietary fiber and just as versatile as almond flour. Use it in your cakes, breads, cookies, muffins, and any recipe you’d use flour in. Combine it with other coconut flavored options to enhance flavor and texture. And remember, just like Almond Flour, Coconut Flour has a short shelf life of 3 to 6 months, so keep it refrigerated or frozen to extend its shelf life.
Honeyville Fine Rice Flour
Though not as popular as its gluten free friends, Honeyville FineRice Flour can also be substituted in any recipe that calls for flour. To see its best results, use it in recipes for pastas, chips, and even breakfast cereals. But what Fine Rice Flour lacks in versatility it makes up for in storage abilities. With a shelf life of 1 year in a sealed bag, you can rest assured that your Fine Rice Flour will be around for all your cooking needs.
