Don’t you just love bread? Think about it, is there anything more comforting, more enjoyable, and more fun to make than bread? It warms the soul, fills the senses, and etches a spot in our hearts.

Some of my fondest memories are centered around the delicious and comforting smell of fresh baked bread, biscuits, rolls, or breadsticks that would fill my childhood home. That’s probably why, whenever I’m trying to think of a new recipe to feature here on the blog, I always find myself going back to bread. I love the smell, the feel, and most of all, the taste of fresh baked bread!

Today’s recipe has all of that and more! Packed full of amazing aroma, taste, and even a little excitement! How, you ask? These are not your typical breadsticks…they’re baked on a Kabob! How cool is that! Topped with melted butter and seasoned with our favorite Italian seasonings, check out our Kabob Breadsticks!

10 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Bread Flour
3 cups Hot Water
1/4 cup Butter, melted
1/4 cup Agave Nectar
1 1/2 Tbsp Honeyville Dough Conditioner
3 Tbsp SAF Yeast

1/4 cup Butter, melted
3 Tbsp Italian Seasoning

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In your BOSCH Universal Mixer, add the following ingredients in this order: water, butter, agave nectar, 4 cups flour, dough conditioner, and yeast. Turn mixer to the #2 setting and mix for 1 minute, then slowly add remaining flour 1 cup at a time. Let the mixer continue to mix for an additional 2-3 minutes until dough is completely kneaded.

Your result should look like this.

Next, remove dough and place on a lightly oiled surface.

Using a bench scraper, slice dough into individual balls, and weigh each ball out.

You’ll want each ball to weigh around 5 oz.

Take an individual ball and roll it out with your hands into a long strip of dough.

Grab a 12 inch skewer and poke the top of the dough through, then wrap the dough around the skewer until it completely covers it.

Repeat this step for each dough ball. You should come out with 20-23 breadsticks. Using a 9×13 casserole pan, lay each skewer across the pan, so that the skewers rest on the rim of the pan.

Take some melted butter and lightly brush each of the breadsticks.

Sprinkle with your favorite seasoning.

Place in a 400 degree oven, knock the temperature down to 350, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tops of the breadsticks are lightly brown.

Remove, allow to cool, then serve.

You will not believe how amazing your kitchen will smell as these breadsticks bake up. The sweet aroma of baking bread, combined with the amazing smell of the Italian seasoning, will catch everyone’s attention. The taste will keep them there! These breadsticks bake up so moist and fluffy. Grab your favorite marinara or ranch dipping sauce and go to town! Just make sure that in your frenzy you don’t end up eating the skewer itself!

Bread is meant to be a comfort food, and you won’t find anything more comforting than these amazing breadsticks!
