Raise your hand if you love Horchata! While I’m sure many hands across America went up, I completely understand that there still may be a few of us that have never heard of, tried, or are even sure they want to try this delicious, refreshing drink.
For those of us still unfamiliar with this smooth refreshing treat, Horchata is a delicious, cinnamon flavored drink, typically found in Spain and Latin America. It can be made from a variety of different nuts or grains, but in most recipes, is made from fine ground rice flour. Serve it chilled, with ice, and you’ve got a cool, sweet drink, with just the right amount of cinnamon goodness, that leaves your body refreshed and your sweet tooth satisfied. Plan and simple, it’s amazingly good and is the perfect drink for Summer, Fall, Winter, or Spring!
Today, we’re making Homemade Horchata using our amazing Fine Rice Flour and Non-Fat Dry Milk. Not only is this recipe super creamy, dreamy, and delicious, it may be the easiest recipe in the world! Just add all your ingredients, blend, chill, and serve! How easy is that?! Alright, enough talk, my taste buds need some Horchata!
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
6 cups Water
First, mix your ingredients.
Add all of your ingredients to a blender. Blend 3-4 minutes until ingredients are completely combined together.
Pour ingredients into a serving pitcher, and place in the refrigerator. Let chill for 2-3 hours before serving. If you prefer, you can add ice and serve it right after it’s blended.
This, by far, is the best Horchata I’ve ever tasted! The sweet taste of cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla are perfectly blended with the rice and milk. It’s just the right amount of sweetness, without giving you a complete sugar overload! Serve this up at any meal, or as the perfect after-school drink.
