Hope you have enjoyed your 2012! I am ready for the adventures that will come my way for 2013! Since I won’t officially start my diet for a couple more days….I have to have time to get rid of the junk in my house first…ha ha…here is your last delicious baking item that you can enjoy on a New Years morning! What’s better than homemade doughnuts! Happy New Years!!!
1 cup prepared Honeyville Instant Milk Alternative
1 cup Honeyville Sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp. Butter
1 1/2 tsp. Salt
6 Tbsp. Honeyville Whole Powdered Eggs + 3/4 cup Water
4 tsp. Baking Powder
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
3 1/2 cups Honeyville All Purpose Flour
Oil for deep frying
Directions:
In a bowl combine sugar and butter. Add egg powder and water and blend. Add milk. In another bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add liquid mixture to flour mixture gradually, mixing well and vigorously. Knead lightly on a floured surface. Add a small amount of flour, if needed, to keep dough from sticking.
Roll out to 1/4 inch thick rectangle. Use a donut cutter or circle cookie cutter to cut dough. Fry in deep hot oil.
When donuts rise to top turn only once. Drain donuts on a paper towel. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, spread on glaze, or eat plain.
Glaze I used:
2 1/2 c. Honeyville Powdered Sugar
1/3 c. Light Corn Syrup
2 Tbsp. warm Water
Enjoy and eat multiples….they are that good!!!
Happy New Year!
