I have had several people ask if you could make almond milk with almond flour so I decided to write this up. The great thing about this is that you can suit it to your taste.  Adding more water or more flour can make it the right consistency for you and your family.

Honeyville Homemade Almond Milk

Ingredients:
1 very full cup spring water/filtered water (you may add more as you will see)
a little piece of vanilla bean (or 1/2 tsp vanilla extract)
1 tsp of Honeyville Granulated Honey or Agave Nectar (optional)
a shake of Salt (yes, pink, sea or plain table will work, up to you!) (optional)

Yields: 1 cup

Directions:
Add all of your ingredients to a blender and blend well.

You may be able to just shake all ingredients in a bottle or jar, but i suggest using a blender until the ingredients are completely blended.

Use a strainer for a better consistency.

Use immediately or chill before serving. Keep refrigerated. The contents tend to settle and thicken over time. Just shake well before using.

Some other ideas on how to use your almond milk – Use it to flavor your Honeyville Oats – Thick, Quick, Steel Cut or Regular.  Also the 6 or 9 grain cereal mixes. I eat the regular oats for breakfast and after I boil the oats in water I add just a little bit of almond milk for some added flavor. Use it to make any of the flavors of cocoa instead of just using water.  They are all delicious, but just try them with some almond milk.

If you are sensitive to almonds or just prefer the coconut flour, you can also substitute it in the recipe to make coconut milk.  The great thing is that it is easy and only takes a few minutes to make if you have a blender.  I also love the fact that homemade almond milk does not contain any of the additives that you may find in the store bought brands.  You can make the amount you desire to suit your purpose and store for one week.
