To tell you the truth, I’m not sure what excites me more about this blog post! First off, it’s a breakfast recipe that you can cook anywhere. Dutch Oven, campfire, emergency stove, or even the kitchen oven, as long as you have a heat source, this recipe will cook up delicious every time!

Second, this recipe is made entirely out of food storage products! Everything that we used (minus the salt, pepper, and oregano) is a packaged, sealed, and shelf stable product of Honeyville Grain. And that means that many of these ingredients are probably already sitting on the shelves of your food storage pantry.

But it may be the third point that excited me most about this recipe. I cooked the whole thing on our brand new #10 Can QuickStove Kit. This thing is awesome! Just drop it into a #10 can, and you’ve got an emergency burner ready for any meal. For this recipe, I cooked all of my ingredients in an additional #10 can that rested on top of the Quick Stove. Take a look!

Ingredients:
2 cups Honeyville Dehydrated Potato Dices
12 Tbsp Honeyville Ova Easy Egg Crystals
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Bell Peppers
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Mushrooms
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Sausage
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Cheddar Cheese
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
1/2 tsp Basil

Additional Products Needed:
1 #10 Can QuickStove Kit
2 Empty Honeyville #10 cans

Directions:

Rehydrate foods and reconstitute Ova Easy Eggs as directed on can seperately.

Place QuickStove Kit in #10 can and light QuickStove Kit burning puck. Let puck burn for 2-3 minutes, then place second #10 can on top of QuickStove Kitt. (NOTE: The QuickStove Kit has notches in the top for the bottom of the #10 can to rest on).

Spray inside of #10 can with cooking spray and add Potato Dices. Cover and let warm up for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning.

Add Bell Peppers, Mushrooms, and Sausage. Cover for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning.

Add ova easy eggs and cheese. Cover for an additional 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning. (NOTE: You may have to replace the burning puck at some point during cooking.)

Once eggs have cooked thoroughly, remove can from QuickStove Kit and serve.

This recipe, though it may not be pretty to look at, cooks up super delicious and flavorful. You can add or substitute any veggies or spices that you desire. And when you use the QuickStove Kit for cooking, you get a delicious campfire smoke that really adds to the flavor of the meal.

So pick up a QuickStove Kit today and give this recipe a try for yourself!
