What is a Holiday meal without those delicious side dishes, am I right? Whether it’s the creamy mashed potatoes drizzled with gravy, the warm, sweet candied yams, or the tangy cranberry sauce, we can all agree, it just isn’t a Holiday meal with the sides!

Now, imagine taking a tried-and-true Holiday side dish and putting a little twist on it? What type of twist, you ask? How about baking it up into a delicious, hand-held delight you can enjoy on, or off the plate? A portable side dish, if you will. Sounds amazing? We’ve got just the side dish for you!

Using our impressive Freeze Dried Green Beans we’ve created a Holiday classic that you can now enjoy right in the palm of your hands. Get ready for a twist on tradition. It’s time for Green Bean Casserole Mini Pies!

Ingredients (Crust):
1/2 cup Cold Water
2 1/2 cups Honeyville Swiss Pastry Flour
3/4 cup Butter, cubed
4 Tbsp Shortening
4 Tbsp Sugar

1 can (8 oz) Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup Heavy Cream
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp Pepper
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
1/8 tsp Nutmeg
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Green Beans
1 cup Fried Onions

Yields: 12 mini pies

First, make your pie crust.

To do so, add all pie ingredients to your BOSCH Food Processor attachment and pulse until all ingredients are blended and you have a soft dough. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.


Once dough has chilled, remove from refrigerator and roll out on a floured surface.


Using a ramekin, punch out crusts.


Place each crust dough in a greased muffin tray cup.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.


Now, prepare your filling. To do so, add cream of mushroom, heavy cream, eggs, pepper, garlic and onion powders, and nutmeg, and whisk with an electric hand mixer until completely combined.


Add freeze dried green beans and stir until fully combined and beans are soft.

Using a spoon, scoop out spoonfuls of filling into bowls.


Bake in oven at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove and sprinkle fried onions on top, then bake for an additional 10 minutes.


Take out of oven, allow to cool, then serve.
