Mmm shakes!  When I was younger my favorite ice cream was Mint Chocolate Chip.  Every once and a while on special occasions, my parents would take us to the local ice cream shop.  I’d order either a Cherry 7-Up or a Grasshopper Shake–still can’t go wrong with either choice.  But what’s a grasshopper shake?  Don’t worry, no bugs!  A grasshopper shake was basically mint chocolate chip ice cream blended with milk into a shake.  This recipe below has the same great flavors from my childhood but isn’t the traditional green color.

Ingredients:
3 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream (about 1 and 1/2 cups)
1 and 1/2 Tbs (about 1/2 of included scoop) Honeyville Mint Hot Cocoa
1/2-2/3 cup Milk (depending on the desired consistency)
optional: drizzle of Chocolate Syrup for garnish

Directions:
Add ice cream to blender.

Sprinkle on in the mint cocoa powder.

Now pour in the milk.

Put the blender lid on and blend, blend, blend!  Once it is smooth pour into cup of choice.  Garnish with a drizzle of chocolate sauce if desired.  Grab a straw, find a corner to sit back and relax, and enjoy this delicious shake!

This was a perfect afternoon snack for myself (and the kids too when they found me)!  Honestly I think any flavor of Honeyville Hot Cocoa would make a delightful shake.  I have a friend of mine that told me her husband likes to sprinkle the Honeyville Mexican Style Cocoa (has a hint of cinnamon flavored) on his ice cream all the time.  What’s your favorite cocoa flavor?
