I love breadsticks, don’t you? No matter what the meal or the occasion, nothing compliments life like a warm, delicious breadstick!

With New Year’s Eve just around the corner, many of us will be whipping up some delicious party favors for our celebration. What better party dish is there than homemade breadsticks? Add a little seasonings and some freshly minced garlic and, well, you’ve got the perfect breadstick for your New Year’s get-together! Enough talk, let’s bake up some warm Garlic Italian Breadsticks!

3 cups Hot Water
1/4 cup Butter, melted
1 Egg
1 Tbsp Salt
1/3 cup Sugar
4 Garlic Cloves, minced
1 Tbsp Chef Tess Romantic Italian Seasoning
8-10 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Bread Flour
4 Tbsp SAF Yeast

Yields: 18-20 breadsticks

In your BOSCH Universal Mixer, add the following ingredients in this order: water, butter, egg, salt, sugar, minced garlic, chef tess spice, 4 cups flour, and yeast. Turn mixer to #2 setting and, while ingredients are mixing, slowly add remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, until dough pulls away from the sides. Knead in machine for 3-4 minutes.

Remove dough, shape into a ball, and place in a greased bowl.

Cover and let rise until double in size.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Remove and roll out on a hard surface.

Using a pizza cutter, slice into thin strips.

Taking two strips at a time, braid dough together.

Place braided breadsticks on your USA Pan cookie sheet, lined with parchment paper.

Brush with butter, then place in 400 degree oven, knock temperature down to 350 and bake for 30 minutes. Remove and allow to cool before serving.
