With the introduction of our all new Honeyville OvaEasy Eggs, we decided to take a closer look at the different egg products we offer here at Honeyville. In the process, we hope to give you a better idea of what our products have to offer for you and show you how to better use each of them in your own kitchen. With that said, let’s take a look!

Honeyville OvaEasy Egg Crystals
What is it?: With our Honeyville OvaEasy Egg Crystals the moisture is slowly removed until the egg becomes a granulated texture. The difference between our Powdered Whole Eggs and Egg Crystals are similar to the differences between powdered and regular sugar. One is granulated, one is powder.
How much do I use?: 2 scoops (scoop included in pack) of Crystals mixed with 3 scoops of water reconstitutes one whole egg.
When should I use it?: When you think of typical breakfast meals, this is the item for you! Typical uses are scrambled eggs, omelets, breakfast casserole, quiche, and almost any recipe that involves an egg-focused meal. Our own Chef Tess even used them to create a delicious Breakfast Skillet Meal in a Jar Recipe.
Why do I need them?: As mentioned above, these are perfect in any recipe centered around eggs. Even better than that, they are super easy to use and cook up just as quick. You can use them to create a delicious breakfast at home, bring some to the office to cook up a quick break-time omelet, or take them camping for some delicious campfire scrambled eggs. And with a shelf life of 8 years (5 years longer than the Powdered Whole Eggs) sealed in a #10 can, they’ll make a delicious addition to your food storage pantry. Plus, each container contains the equivilant of 96 eggs.

Honeyville Freeze Dried Scrambled Eggs
What is it?: Our Honeyville Freeze Dried Scrambled Eggs are cooked, scrambled eggs that are freeze dried, removing he moisture using a very low temperature and vacuum.
How much do I use?: Because these eggs are already cooked, it’s really up to you! To re-hydrate, simply add 1/3 cup of boiling water to 1/2 cup of scrambled eggs. Stir once, cover and let stand for 5 to 7 minutes, then drain excess water. Just like that, you have delicious, hot scrambled eggs!
When should I use it?: The thing to remember with our Freeze Dried Scrambled Eggs is that they are already cooked. Because of this, you want to use them as scrambled eggs with a meal or in recipes that call for already cooked eggs, such as certain breakfast casseroles, or my personal favorite, Breakfast Pockets. But they are at their best on a plate served with a piece of toast and a few slices of bacon.
Why do I need them?: This is the perfect item for campers and outdoorsmen. All you need is water and heat and you’ll immediately have warm, delicious scrambled eggs. They are also great for those crazy mornings when the kids need a warm breakfast but you just don’t have the time to cook it. Hot scrambled eggs in just 5 minutes? Sounds like Heaven to me!
