I love freezer jam! There’s nothing else like it. The taste of fresh fruit. The sweet, thick flavor and texture. For me, store bought jam just doesn’t cut it.

My mom was the connoisseur of freezer jam. I can still remember watching her transform pounds of delicious, fresh raspberries, apricots, and peaches into amazing, jaw dropping jams! There was no better feeling than opening our family freezer each day and seeing bottles lining the shelves, filled to the brim with sweet, savory jam!
While I know I’ll never be able to re-create my mom’s one-of-a-kind jam, my goal when I first came to Honeyville was to find a way to make amazing freezer jam using our own Freeze Dried Fruits. Think about it, freezer jam you can make with Food Storage. How cool is that? Thanks to a lot of trial and error and some help from our awesome Ultra Gel, we’ve come up with the perfect freezer jam recipe that you can make with any of the Freeze Dried Fruits now found in your food storage pantry. Grab a slice of toast and some butter, it’s time to make Food Storage Freezer Jam!
Ingredients:
3 3/4 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Raspberries + 3/4 cup Water
2 cups Sugar
3 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1/2 cup Ultra Gel
Directions:
First, re-hydrate your raspberries.

To do so, add raspberries and 3/4 cup water to a large bowl.

Toss raspberries in water until they are fully hydrated and extremely soft and moist. DO NOT DRAIN WATER!

Next, add sugar and lemon juice and stir.

Pour in ultra gel and stir together until jam is thick and smooth.

Using a wide mouth jar, pour jam evenly into each jar, but do not overfill.

Place lid on jar and place in freezer for 2-3 hours, or up to 6-12 months. Before serving, remove and allow to thaw. Keep in refrigerator after that.

You will not believe how delicious this jam tastes! With just the right amount of sweet and savory, this jam is perfect for spreading on dinner rolls, toast, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, or anything else you can think of. The freeze dried raspberries give the perfect amount of tang without overpowering the jam. One taste, and you’ll swear you’re trying your Grandma’s famous jam!

It’s time to become a freezer jam lover again, and with a recipe as easy as this, why wouldn’t you?
