I remember when I was young my mom would always tell me “An apple a day keeps the dentist away.” With all the essential vitamins and minerals that a person needs, it’s not hard to see why! Apples are high in dietary fiber, which aids in digestion and promotes weight loss. They also contain almost no fat or cholesterol. This is why we have chosen Honeyville Freeze Dried Apples as our fourth can in our Food Storage 101 segment. Not only do they fit in the necessary fruit group for your food storage as well as provide all the benefits we just mentioned, it is an easy product to rotate regularly in your daily meals. Whether sprinkling them on your oatmeal each morning, giving it to your kids for a daily afternoon snack, or using it in your everyday cooking needs, this is an extremely versatile product with a shelf life of 10-15 years. And if apples are not your choice, we have a full line of Freeze Dried Fruitthat you can substitute.

Now, enough with the talk, let’s dive into a great dessert provided by Chef Tess!
