Ingredients:
3 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Bread Flour
1 3/4 tsp Salt
1 tsp SAF Yeast
1 1/2 cup Warm Water
Topping:
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
3 Tbsp Cinnamon
1/2 cup Butter, melted
Directions:
First, prepare your dough.
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and yeast, and whisk together.
Add water and, using your Danish Dough Whisk, whisk together ingredients until a sticky dough forms.
Place dough on floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.
Dough will be ready when it is soft and smooth. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise for an hour.
While dough is rising, add sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon together in a medium bowl and whisk together.
Once dough is risen, punch down and remove from bowl.
Cut dough into small pieces, a little smaller than a baseball.
Roll each ball in the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Stack each ball in your Dutch Oven. Pour your melted butter over the top. I lined mine with foil, just so that I could pull the monkey bread out easily, without any mess.
Once in, bake at 450 degrees for 30 minutes. If you choose to bake it on hot coals, cook time should only be 15-20 minutes.
This bread bakes up warm, gooey, sweet, and oh so delicious! The Dutch Oven retains the heat so well and gives the dish that perfect added flavor and texture. You won’t be able to eat just one! Bake this up for any summer or family gathering and watch them fly out of the oven!
Everything is better in the Dutch Oven, especially these delicious Monkey Bread!
