Ingredients:
2 1/2 tsp SAF Yeast
1 cup Warm Water
Cream Filling:
1 cup Milk
1 cup Water
Chocolate Topping:
1 1/2 cups Chocolate Chips
1 1/2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
Glaze Frosting:
1 tsp Vanilla
3 Tbsp Milk
Yields: 12 doughnuts
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine yeast and water and let stand for 5 minutes while yeast activates. Add 3 cups scone mix and knead together until completely combined. Form in a dough ball, cover bowl and let rise for 20 minutes.
Remove dough and roll out on a hard surface.
Using a mason jar lid, punch out 12 round doughnut shapes.
Place on a cookie sheet and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
Place in oven and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until tops are lightly golden brown. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
While doughnuts are cooling, begin your filling by combining insta whip, pudding, powdered sugar, milk, and water in a large bowl and mixing with an electric mixer until the combination is light and fluffy. Allow to chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Using a cupcake decorating bag, place filling in bag, then insert decorating tip into doughnut. Squeeze filling into doughnut.
As you squeeze, you should feel the doughnut expanding a bit. Make sure you fill the doughnut, but do not explode the doughnut!
Once doughnuts are full, make your chocolate topping by melting chocolate chips and coconut oil together in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval.
Once chocolate is melted, dip doughnut tops in the chocolate and let dry on your wire rack. Give each doughnut about 30 minutes to dry.
Make your glaze frosting by whisking powdered sugar, vanilla and milk together, placing in a sandwich bag, with the corner cut open, then piping the frosting across the top. Allow to dry, then serve.
These doughnuts bake up light, fluffy, and super delicious. The cream filling is exactly what your taste buds have been hoping for and will make your knees weak with each bite. These tasty treats are perfect for any breakfast, snack time, or delicious dessert. Best of all, your family will simply love you for baking up such a delicious, and exciting snack!
While our doughnut addiction is not disappearing anytime soon, rest assured, these cream filled doughnuts will!
