Wrong! Believe it or not, chocolate and zucchini are a pretty powerful combination of flavor, taste, and texture, so long as you have the right recipe to include them in.
We have just that recipe! Using our amazing Freeze Dried Zucchini, we’ve created a chocolate lovers dream that is sure to make your taste buds water and your stomach growl with excitement! Trust us, you don’t want to pass this one up! Let’s get to baking some Chocolate Zucchini Brownies!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Butter, softened
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
3/4 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Sour Cream
2 tsp Almond Extract
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Zucchini
2 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Flour
1/2 cup Honeyville Baker’s Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
Frosting:
2 cups Powdered Sugar
2 Tbsp Honeyville Baker’s Cocoa Powder
4 Tbsp Milk
2 Tbsp Butter, softened
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and sugar, using an electric hand mixer.
Next, place your 2 cups freeze dried zucchini in a gallon-sized bag and, using a rolling pin, crush until you have a course powder.
Add crushed zucchini powder, sour cream, and almond extract to butter/sugar mixture and beat together with hand mixer.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking soda, and whisk together.
Add flour mixture to butter/sugar mixture and mix until a thick dough forms.
Place dough in your USA Pan Square Pan and distribute evenly with a spatula.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove and allow brownies to cool completely.
Once cooled, make your frosting by combining powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and butter in a large bowl, then mixing together until a soft frosting forms.
Spread frosting evenly on brownies, slice, and serve.
