Happy National Waffle Day!  I love waffles for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  But today’s recipe is for dessert-Chocolate Waffle Sundaes!

Ingredients:
1 cup Honeyville Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix
1 and 1/2 scoops Honeyville Gourmet Hazelnut Cocoa (or your favorite flavor)
1/4 cup Semi-Sweet Mini Chocolate Chips
1 Tbsp Coconut Oil, melted
3/4 cup Water
Vanilla Ice Cream
Chocolate Syrup
Caramel Sauce

Directions:
First preheat waffle iron.  In a bowl with a spout or large liquid measuring cup add dry ingredients.

Quickly mix together.  Add water and coconut oil  Mix until batter is fairly smooth.

Pour batter onto lightly greased and preheated waffle iron.

Bake in the waffle iron until waffles are done.

Now comes the fun part!  Place one waffle on a plate and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with chocolate syrup and caramel sauce.

And enjoy every bite…because you know I did!

They are so quick and easy to throw together.  They are great by themselves right off the waffle iron.  They kind of taste like a soft chocolate chip cookie and they are over-the-top-delicious with all the fixings!  This recipe has to be one of my new favorite desserts.  It was so good that I called my sister about 3 bites in and told her she HAD to make this.  The batch made five 4×4 waffles so great for a quick family treat or easy enough to double for a party.  You could also top with Honeyville Freeze Dried Bananas for more of a banana split style dessert.

Happy Eating!
