Imagine, if you will, the perfect soup recipe. What would it include? First off, it has to have meat. No soup is complete without a hearty portion of meat. Second, it has to be packed with delicious veggies. Third, it has to have a thick, creamy broth that brings it all together, wouldn’t you agree? But what about a fourth ingredient? A secret surprise that only you know about. What would that ingredient be?
How about quinoa? Yes, you heard me right, quinoa in soup! Sounds crazy? It’s actually pretty good, and very healthy too. Let me show you how. Using our amazing Organic Quinoa, combined with our Freeze Dried Chicken and Ham, we’ve create a warm, hearty, and mouth watering soup that you can’t pass up! Get ready, it’s time for Chicken, Ham, & Quinoa Soup!
1 cup Honeyville Organic Quinoa
5 Tbsp Butter
1/2 cup Honeyville Dehydrated Celery
1/2 cup Honeyville Dehydrated Carrots
2 Tbsp Honeyville Freeze Dried Onion
5 Tbsp Honeyville All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
2 1/2 cups Chicken Broth
3 cups Milk
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Chicken
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Ham
First, cook your quinoa.
In your Fagor 3 in 1 Pressure Cooker, combined 1 cup quinoa with 2 1/2 cups water and cook at High Pressure for 4 minutes. Release pressure, drain any excess liquid, and set aside quinoa to cool.
Next, add butter to 3 quart pan and melt at medium heat.
Add celery, carrots, onion and flour, and stir until consistency gets clumpy.
Pour in chicken brother and milk and stir continually until ingredients begin to boil.
Add chicken, ham, and quinoa, stir until combined and ham is soft, then remove from heat. Serve warm.
