Don’t you just love this time of year? Snow is on the ground, a winter chill is in the air, and everywhere you look there are colorful lights, decorated trees, and the sweet sound of carols in the air. The Holidays are here, and with them come all the delicious baked treats we’ve come to love.
One of those delicious treats that I always love during this time are Candy Canes. Really, is there anything better on a chilly winter day? The sweet taste of peppermint-on-a-stick soothes the soul and gets you in the mood for Hot Cocoa, gift wrapping, and everything jolly and festive associated with this time. So imagine if you could take the sweet taste of Candy Canes and combine them with the chocolatey, fudgey goodness of our popular brownie mix, all topped with our amazing Insta-Whip? A Holiday treat for the ages! It’s time to get festive with our Candy Cane Brownies!
1 cup Honeyville Insta-Whip
1 cup Water
1/3 cup crushed Candy Cane
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, combine brownie mix, vegetable oil, water, and ova easy eggs and mix together until a smooth batter forms.
Place candy canes in a large resealable bag. Using a rolling pin, crush the candy canes into small pieces.
Add 1 cup crushed candy canes to your batter and mix together.
Pour batter into a brownie pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out cleanly. Let cool for 30 minutes before slicing up.
As brownies are cooling, start your topping. In a large mixing bowl, combine insta-whip and water and mix with an electric hand mixer until soft peaks begin to form.
With a spoon place a dollop of topping on each brownie, then sprinkle crushed candy canes on top, and serve.
This is the perfect recipe to get you in the Holiday spirit! The sweet taste of gooey brownies baked with a hint of candy cane is just what you’ve been waiting for. The insta-whip is the perfect topping, and the added crushed candy canes on top are exactly what this treat needs! Bake this up for your Holiday party, as a delicious gift for neighbors, or just for a festive treat at home!
