Have you ever heard of Garbage Bread? No, I’m not talking about that dried up, crusty loaf you just threw out last night. I’m talking about a delicious, warm, homemade loaf of bread that is super tasty with a name that’s, well, not.

Though the name may not be appealing, Garbage Bread itself is actually very delicious! Imagine, if you will, taking your favorite meal or dish and stuffing it into a large, warm french loaf. Sounds good right? Trust me, it’s amazing!

With the Holidays here, we thought the perfect product to feature in our garbage bread would be our amazing Freeze Dried Turkey. Combining it with our delicious Freeze Dried Mozzarella, Ranch dressing, and giving it a kick with some spicy buffalo sauce, we’ve baked up a loaf we’re sure you’ll not only love to bake, but simply won’t be able to resist! Grab you mixer, its time to bake up a loaf of Buffalo Turkey Garbage Bread!

Ingredients (Loaf):
3 cups Hot Water
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/3 cup Sugar
1 Tbsp Salt
2 cups Honeyville Hard White Wheat, Milled (about 4 cups flour)
3 Tbsp SAF Yeast
4-5 cups Honeyville Alta Artisan Flour

1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Mozzarella Cheese
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Turkey
1 cup Buffalo Wing Sauce
1 cup Ranch Dressing

Yields: 2 Loafs

First, mill your grain.

To do so, run 2 cups hard white wheat through your Komo Stone Grain Mill at the finest setting.

Next, make your dough. In your Bosch Universal Mixer, combine ingredients in the following order: water, oil, sugar, salt, milled wheat, yeast. Turn mixer to #2 setting and while dough is mixing, slowly add alta artisan flour 1 cup at a time until dough begins to pull away from the sides. Knead in machine for 4-5 minutes.

Remove dough and place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 30-40 minutes.

While dough is mixing prepare your ingredients.


First, re-hydrate your cheese by soaking it in water until soft, then draining excess liquid.


Do the same for the turkey.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.


Once dough is risen, remove from bowl, divide in half, then roll out on a hard surface. Spread wing sauce and ranch over top of dough.


Next, add cheese and turkey. spread more sauce and ranch over the top of that.


Gentle roll up your dough into a loaf shape.


Place on a baking pan.


Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove and allow to cool before slicing and serving.


This bread is a delicious, full course meal, all in a slice! The buffalo wing sauce and ranch are the perfect combinations with our turkey. The mozzarella cheese gives it added flavor and texture. The loaf itself is light, fluffy, and the perfect plate to hold it all together. Bake this up for a delicious tailgating snack, amazing lunch, or the perfect appetizers.
