They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So why do so many of us choose to “throw away” that meal with such simple dishes? Think about it, what did you have for breakfast today? Cereal? Doughnuts? Only a cup of coffee?
In your BOSCH Universal Mixer add the following ingredients in this order: water, eggs, olive oil, agave nectar, 4 cups flour, dough conditioner, and yeast, and mix together at the #2 setting. Add 5-6 additional cups of flour while dough is mixing until dough begins to pull away from the sides. Knead in machine for 2-3 minutes, remove, and place on a hard, lightly oiled surface.
Using a dough scraper cut dough ball into 3 separate balls. Roll each ball out evenly in a rectangle shape, then shape each dough ball into a baguette shape. Repeat for all three, then place on a cookie sheet. Lightly spray tops with water.
Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, then knock the temperature down to 350 and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Remove and allow to cool.
While bread is cooling, re-hydrate stuffing items by soaking in water until soft, then draining any excess liquid.
Place your baguette on a cutting board.
Using a bread knife, cut slices into the loaf almost all the way down the loaf, leaving just a little bit at the bottom to keep the general shape of the loaf intact.
Generously stuff eggs, sausage, and cheese between each slice.
Wrap in foil, place back on the cookie sheet, and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Repeat process for each loaf. Remove and serve.
When they said Breakfast was the most important meal of the day, this was the dish they were referring to. The bread bakes up crisp on the outside, yet light and fluffy on the inside. The eggs and cheese bake in perfectly with the bread, while the sausage gives it an amazing morning spice you’re hoping for in a meal. And talk about hearty! One slice of this baguette is sure to fill you up right each morning.
It’s time to reclaim breakfast, and this is the perfect baguette to do so!
