School is back in session, and that can me only one thing: Snack time! If you’re like me, the one thing you love most about the first week of a new school year are all those delicious snacks that start to fill our homes each week day afternoon.

For me, the best part of each school day was rushing home to see what mom had made for us. By far, one of the easiest and most enjoyable snacks she baked were her amazing granola bars. Healthy, delicious, and the perfect grab-and-go snack, granola bars have become a staple in most every home these days.

So how do you make a granola bar even better? How do you transform this delish dish into something special? How about adding bananas? We took this mouth-watering, heart healthy granola bar recipe and added our amazing Freeze Dried Bananas for a back-to-school treat your kids are sure to love. Say hello to our Banana Granola Bars!

3 1/4 cup Honeyville Regular Rolled Oats
1/4 cup Honeyville Flax Seeds, ground
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Salt
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Bananas
1/2 cup Raw Honey
1 tsp Vanilla

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.


In a large bowl, whisk together oats, ground flax seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.


In a separate bowl, soak bananas until they are soft, drain excess liquid, then add honey and vanilla. Whisk together until combined.


Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix together until a thick batter forms. Place batter in your USA Pan Square Cake Pan.


Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, or until top is golden brown.


Remove from oven, turn out on a cutting board, and cut into bars, then serve.


These granola bars are healthy, delicious, and have the perfect hint of banana goodness. The oats bake up to perfection, and the cinnamon and nutmeg give the perfect amount of flavor. Bake these up as an ideal after-school snack. Your kids will absolutely love them.
