So it only makes sense that every time I see a new doughnut recipe, I find myself rushing to the kitchen to make it.

The other day I came across this gem of a recipe on Pinterest and knew I had to try it out for myself. The original recipe comes from, and I knew it was one I simply had to pass on to all of you. Using our amazing Freeze Dried Bananas, these doughnuts are the perfect rounded treat to wake you up each morning, or just give you that sugar boost each afternoon! Commence the drooling people, it’s time for Banana Doughnuts!

2 2/3 cups Honeyville All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Butter
1/2 cup Applesauce
3/4 cup Sugar
2 Eggs
4 Egg Whites
2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
2 tsp Baking Soda
2 cups Honeyville Freeze Dried Bananas

1/4 cup Butter
2 cups Powdered Sugar
3/4 tsp Vanilla
3 Tbsp Milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Re-hydrate bananas by soaking for 1-2 minutes in water, then draining excess water.

In a large mixing bowl, combine eggs, egg whites, butter, sugar, and applesauce and mix together. Add flour, baking soda, and lemon juice and mix until combined.

Pour in bananas and mix together until full combined. You should get a smooth, shiny batter with just a few clumps.

Prepare your doughnut pan by greasing doughnut molds evenly.

Transfer batter to a large, resealable bag, cut one of the corners, and pipe into the doughnut molds.

You’ll want each mold about 2/3 filled. This recipe should give you enough to make 12 doughnuts.

Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.

Remove from oven and tray and allow to cool on a wire rack.

Make glaze by melting butter in a large pot, removing from heat, then adding powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk and whisking together.

Lightly coat each doughnut with the glaze, allow to cool until glaze is dry, then serve.

These doughnuts are super fluffy, moist, and delicious! The rich taste of banana is the perfect compliment to the amazing texture. The light hint of lemon from the lemon juice is perfect and the whole thing is topped of with a glaze that you simply can’t be beat!

Ahhhh doughnuts, is there anything you can’t do?
