Ah, good old granola bars. Is there any better school treat than these? I can still remember the joy of opening my lunch box in elementary school, or rushing home after classes to find waiting for me a sweet, delicious granola bar. Packed full of all your favorite grains, with the perfect amount of sweetness, these are the treats we love to give our kids.
Spread your pecans and rolled cereal over your USA Pan Cookie Sheet and bake for 10 minutes, just until they are toasted. Remove and transfer to a large bowl.
In your Food Processor, add dates and process until they are thick, sticky, and form a ball.
In your bowl of oats and pecans, add cinnamon and lightly toss together.
In a separate bowl, add honey, peanut butter powder, water, and vanilla. Heat up in the microwave and stir until texture is smooth.
In your bowl of rolled cereal, add processed dates and apples, and toss together. Gently pour honey/peanut butter mixture over the top and stir until you get a thick mixture.
In your USA Pan Square Cake Pan, lined with parchment paper, pour mixture, then gently press and form into pan. Place in refrigerator and allow to set up for at least 2 hours. Remove, slice up, and serve.
Packed full of grain goodness and rich, sweet taste, these are the bars that are sure to make any Fall activity that much better! The 6 grain cereal gives so much added taste and texture, while the peanut butter and honey hold it all together with perfection. Serve these up as the ideal after-school snack, or just a quick on-the-go treat. Trust us, they won’t disappoint!
We all love granola bars, but thanks to recipes like this one, now we can all love making them ourselves too!
