Most resolutions concern looking and feeling better during the next year and we go gung ho into some new eating plan or exercise routine. Our new resolve can be all well and good, but if we do not really intend to change our lifestyles and be different then just making a change in our diet or working out for a few weeks is not going to do us any good.

You want to make a lasting change in your life. Sometimes we think we have to make some huge stride to have anything that makes a difference in how we feel, but that just isn’t the case. Did you know that just making a few small changes can have a huge impact on your health and your outlook on the entire year. Here are just a few easy resolutions that can help us achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Remember Breakfast

First, did you know that eating breakfast can boost your metabolism and get your day started off right?   Oatmeal in all varieties helps lower cholesterol and gives sustained energy. Oatmeal is full of fiber and nutrients. Whole grains such as oats are a source of iron, magnesium and B vitamins.  It can help you lose weight and feel full for a longer amount of time. Eggs are good any time of the day, breakfast lunch and dinner.

Don’t Forget your Fruits & Veggies

People don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables. Just trying to eat more fruit and vegetables this year could be one of the best resolutions you can make for you and your family’s health. According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, you should aim for two or more cups of fruit a day, and two and one-half cups of vegetables. Honeyville offers a nice variety of freeze dried fruits and freeze dried vegetables, so they will not go rotten on you before you can enjoy them.  Also there are no added preservatives. They taste delicious and you are getting the same benefits as eating it right from the earth. Scientific studies have  also proven that not eating enough fruits and vegetable plays a role in cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke and diabetes.
