Honeyville Inc. has completed construction of their new Ogden, Utah facility and production in now underway in the more than 200,000 square-foot facility. The first product out of the new facility ran through a new, state-of-the-art cupping line early last week. Since the initial run, production at the facility will increase in volume and is expected to continue to do so over the next several months.
The Ogden facility will provide heat-treatment services, wholesale distribution, a retail outlet store, dry mix blending and a myriad of packaging lines including cupping, canning, and flexible packaging. The new production lines utilize a cutting edge production management system and have been custom designed to meet the unique needs of Honeyville customers. Automation and technological advances have allowed for not only a faster production process, but also a safer work environment. The new facility provides a more convenient manufacturing location for Honeyville’s customers in the Mountain West while nearly tripling the company’s production capacity and creating approximately 90-100 new jobs.
Honeyville Inc. has experienced rapid growth over the last three years and its Rancho Cucamonga, CA facility neared its production capacity limits. As it became clear there was a need for additional production resources, Honeyville decided to build in Ogden. “The city [of Ogden] has created a business-friendly environment that immediately made it a top choice for the new plant,” said Ed Hemphill, President at Honeyville. “And Honeyville grew up here in Utah. We liked the idea of staying close to our roots and the awesome people at the Boyer Business Depot of Ogden (BDO) helped us make that a reality.” Honeyville joins Hershey, Home Depot, Lofthouse, Wayfair, Treehouse Foods, and more than 100 other companies as the newest addition to the BDO community.
