I love a party! No seriously I love to think about them and plan them and host them (minus scrubbing the house prior to said party) and go to them. The other day I had an annual “First Lighting of the Fireplace” party. Any excuse to get together with family and friends and eat is okay by me. This Fiesta Cheese Dip would be great for any party or just to celebrate bedtime and being at home! ‘Tis the party season after all.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Honeyville Powdered Cheese Sauce
1 Tbsp Honeyville Dehydrated Green Onions
2 Tbsp Honeyville Freeze Dried Bell Peppers
1/2 Tbsp Honeyville Freeze Dried Jalapenos
1 (14.5 oz) can Diced Tomatoes, drained
1 (4 oz) can Diced Green Chile Peppers
2 cups Hot Water
Directions:
Whisk together the cheese powder and water until well blended and smooth.
Transfer cheese sauce to a medium sauce pan and add remaining ingredients. Over medium-low heat, warm through, stirring occasionally.
Best if served immediately with your favorite tortilla chips.
This dip is delicious and super versatile. If you like more heat (I like things mild)-add some more freeze dried jalapenos, need more protein or fiber in your diet-try adding some Honeyville Black Beans, etc. My husband and I were talking as we were chomping away, and came up with the idea of making this dip-layered style next time with Honeyville Refried Beans, then some of the Fiesta Dip, topped with sour cream, chopped avocados, tomatoes and some cilantro. Glorious goodness I tell you!
What is your favorite snack to take to a party?
Happy Eating!
