We’ve spent a lot of time on our blog showing you how to make some delicious meals, treats, and breads using your Honeyville Food Storage. Our goal has been to show you how you can use your food storage everyday to create amazing meals for every member of your family. But while we’ve spent a lot of time focused on Dinners for Dad, Cookies for the Kids, and Meals in a Jar for Mom, there is one member of the family we’ve seemed to forget. The fuzzy, four-legged kind!

No, I’m not talking about that crazy uncle that always makes things awkward at the family Christmas parties (we all have one, right?). I’m talking about the family dog! Yes, you can make delicious meals from your food storage for everyone in the family, including the family pet. Don’t believe me? Check out this easy-to-bake recipe for Doggy Biscuits using simple ingredients anyone can find in their food storage pantry!

1 cup Milled Honeyville Oat Groats (or Honeyville Oat Flour)
1 cup Milled Honeyville Hard White Wheat
2 Tbsp Honeyville Ova Easy Egg Crystals + 3 Tbsp Water
1/3 cup Water
1/2 cup Honeyville Dehydrated Shoestring Carrots
1 cup Honeyville Freeze Dried Apples

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Begin by milling oat groats and hard white wheat separate.

Place in a large mixing bowl with ova easy egg powder and water.

Re-hydrate the apples…

…and carrots.

Drain the carrots and apples.

Place the carrots in the mixing bowl, but place the apples on a cutting board.

Dice up apples into smaller pieces. The smaller you get the pieces, the easier they’ll be to combine in the dough.

Place diced apples in bowl and mix together until a soft dough begins to form.

Place dough on a floured surface and roll dough out to about 1/2 inch thick.

Using a cookie cutter, cut out biscuits in the dough. I picked up this bone-shaped cookie cutter at PetSmart.

Once biscuits are cut out, place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes, or until biscuits are golden and crispy.

Remove, let cool, and serve.

These biscuits are super easy to make and your furry friend will go nuts for them.

Our web designer brought his pal, Leroy, to demonstrate just how delicious these biscuits can be.

As you can see, these biscuits are the perfect treat that your doggy will gobble right up! And best of all, you can make these delicious snacks with common items found in your food storage pantry!
