What’s your favorite family recipe? You know, that one that has been passed down from generation to generation. That crumpled up, food stained, edges ripped recipe card that has more stories associated with it then a TV soap opera!
Today just happens to be one of those dishes. While I can’t claim it came directly from my family line, it for sure is a recipe we’ve all probably enjoyed, or can even find in our own family cookbooks. Made with our finely milled Barley Flour (pictured above), this bread recipe combines the perfect blend of old fashioned goodness with the simplicity and ease of modern baking. It even has a cool, old-fashion name. Get ready, it’s time to bake some Barley Pioneer Bread.
In your BOSCH Universal Mixer, combine all ingredients.
Mix at #2 setting until ingredients are full combined.
Pour batter evenly between two greased 9×5 loaf pans.
Bake in oven at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Remove and let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and let cool on a wire rack.
This bread is not only easy to make, it’s super moist and delicious. The barley and wheat combination gives you a healthy, whole grain taste, while the molasses keeps everything sweet and delicious. Smear some melted butter over a slice and you’ve got the perfect pre-meal snack or appetizer. Serve this bread with any dish, and you’ll agree, this is the perfect blend of taste and old fashion goodness!
There’s nothing better than a good old family recipe. Isn’t it time to add this Barley Pioneer Bread to your family cookbook?
